Firefighting for Non-Firefighters Info Session
(A presentation facilitated by the Wamboin Volunteer Rural Fire Brigade.)
Pre-registration is essential—the workshop is limited to 40 places. The previous session in November last year was all but booked out, so reserve your spot now!
The workshop is specifically designed for local residents who may find themselves at risk during a bushfire. It involves theory and hands-on opportunities in a non-threatening environment.

Wamboin History
As part of an effort by the WCA to document the history of the area, and as a result of our efforts to digitise and bring back to life old issues of The Whisper, we have begun to compile extracts from our Whisper records that relate to the history of the Wamboin and Bywong areas.
This is an ongoing exercise, and as we expand our efforts, we'll create a new section on this website dedicated to the history of our area. For the time being, however, historical records are being assembled under the The Whisper Feature Extracts section of this site.

Telecommuting in Palerang
- Do you live in NSW in the ACT region?
- Have you ever dreamed about working close to home and regaining the time spent travelling for something more worthwhile?
- Do you already have an arrangement for remote or tele-working in place with your employer?
- Would you be more attracted to the idea of working remotely if there was a local centre available with secure hi-speed telecommunications and meeting OH & S requirements?
- Are you a small business operator who is looking for office space in a regional town?
Could you take 10 minutes now to fill out our survey so we can help you to achieve the lifestyle you want and reduce your commuting?
Click here complete the survey or for further information.
Fill out the survey before December 31st 2011 and go into a draw for $150 Myers or Bunnings voucher. Survey closes 31st January 2012.
This project is being undertaken by Sustaining Our Towns which is funded by the NSW Government through its Environmental Trust.

Wamboin Curry Recipes 2011
As announced on the occasion, we are preparing a compilation of the recipes for the creations presented at this year's Great Wamboin Curry Night. If you would like to submit your recipe, and all curry cooks on the night are encouraged to do so, please send it to curry@wamboincommunity.asn.au. We will compile the contributions and advise interested parties on how we plan to distribute the product in due course.
